Mind in Meditation

Meditation can be practiced in many ways. In a sitting meditation, we find a quiet place to sit either cross-legged on a mat or in a chair. We ease ourself in a comfortable position, keeping the back relatively straight, hands on the thighs, we close our eyes and focus on our in-breath and out-breath. Thoughts come and go, we let them; we try not to get involved and stay detached. Then after some time, a certain calm and freshness surrounds us.

After mediation, we become clear. This clarity is refreshing. It makes us more aware. As we feel ourselves refreshed, our surroundings too become refreshed.
